CARING FOR YOUR PEARLS

To keep your Tahitian pearl jewelry looking its best, focus on gentle cleaning, protection from harsh chemicals and environments, and proper storage. Avoid harsh cleaning agents, ultrasonic cleaners, and direct sunlight. Wipe pearls with a soft, damp cloth after wearing.

STORAGE

  • Store Separately: Keep pearls separate from other jewelry to prevent scratches. 

  • Use Soft Linings: Store pearls in soft cloth or lined containers or pouches. 

  • Avoid Airtight Containers: Do not store pearls in airtight containers, as they need to "breathe". 

  • Consider Re-stringing: If you wear your pearl strands regularly, have them restrung annually

  • Wipe with Olive Oil: You can wipe your pearls with olive oil to restore their luster. 

  • Wear First, Remove Last: Apply makeup, perfume, and hair products before putting on your pearl jewelry. 

  • Handle with Care: Grasp the shank or metal part of a ring when removing it to avoid touching the pearl and transferring oils. 

  • Don't Over-Clean: Over-cleaning can dry out pearls, so gentle care is key.
